A deep brooding, dense rich dry red. Ripe plums and blackcurrant aromas and flavours are backed up with subtle delicate oak. The palate is full, luscious and rich with loads of black fruits and cedar oak. Abundant tannins and sweet fruit, typical of low crop Merlot frame the finish.
The Hanlin Hill vineyard in the Clare Valley was planted in 1968 following the natural contours of the vineyard. The slate geology and climate of the site are perfect for production of the highest quality Riesling with a backbone of high natural acidity and the intense lime flavours characteristic of Petaluma Riesling.
A full flavoured, rich textured wine. Lemon and lime complement white peach and ripe nectarine with a lovely hint of gun flint and smoky oak. The palate is long and has a wonderful acid line, with lemon meringue and citrus zest on the finish.
A medium-bodied and complex wine with luscious raspberry and dark berry fruits, alongside liquorice, white pepper and spicy cedar notes. The palate continues with a generous, sweet-fruit mid palate with mocha oak notes and talc-like tannins providing excellent structure with a lingering persistence of raspberry fruits.
The Tiers vineyard in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley was planted over 40 years ago by Petaluma’s founding father Brian Croser. The 2019 Petaluma Tiers Chardonnay is a complex and textured wine. Ripe white peach and grapefruit dominate with a subtle creaminess and toasty smokey oak which complement the bright juicy acidity. A wine of immediate appeal the 2019 Tiers Chardonnay had the ideal vintage conditions and will cellar gracefully.
